Now that you have determined that a dog fits in your life (now and in the future), the next step is to decide if you want a puppy or if you want to give an adult dog a second chance. Although a lot of dog owners will tell you that a puppy is the best choice because you can train them the way you like. There are also great advantages to give an adult dog a second chance. A lot of people have the misconception that dogs in animal shelters are problem dogs. It is good to know that most dogs in animal shelters are there because of family circumstances like allergy or divorce.

With an adult dog you wont have to go through the basics of puppy training. Because to be honest, although they are really cute, puppy's take up a lot of time.
