Dog safety in the back of the car

Allthough many pet owners place their dog, unrestrained, behind a metal barrier in the back of their vans, minivans, SUVs, and station wagons we don't recommend this. When making an emergency stop or in case of a crash, the dog is pushed into the barrier with an enormous impact. Another danger is that your dog tries to escape and runs away when you (or rescue workers) open the back of the car. There are better and safer solutions when you want your dog to travel in the back, like a travel crate. Most of these crates fold out, in a few seconds and don't take up much space, the dog has its own contained space where he/she can sit or lay down in, without the risk of being shuffled around, or sneak out of the car when opening the backdoor.

There are crates for all dog sizes, the most practical crates are:

Deluxe Sherpa Bag Dog Carrier or the

Pet Gear(tm) Home 'N Go Deluxe Soft Crate

They are available for all sizes of dogs, take up little space and can be used as a bench in the house or on holidays. A crate provides safety for your dog.
