Why is my dog Scooting or Licking his behind intensely?
You may have seen
your dog scooting
its posterior on the ground, licking or biting at the anus or chasing its tail.
This is an attempt to relieve the pressure and
discomfort of impacted anal glands. Some times the glands leak,
producing an awful fishy smell.
We had these problems with
our dogs and will tell you about a product that will help make it easier for
you and your dog.
Many times we have taken our dog to the vet to get his glands emptied, she told us how to do it our self, not
a nice job to do, but is has to been done. We found it quite
difficult to find the right spot and putting the right amount of
pressure to the glands. Then we heard from a friend about a natural
herbal remedy named “PetAlive AnalGlandz”, this made it
much easier. The fluid in the glands became softer and was allot
easier to get out. And to both our and our dogs relief the procedure
was needed less frequent.
Use PetAlive AnalGlandz:
- To encourage natural emptying of
the anal glands
- As an aid to manual extraction of
impacted or congested anal glands
- To cleanse the anal area and
prevent infection and abscesses
- For pain relief and reduction of
inflammation

- As a disinfectant solution to
prevent bacterial growth
It's also good to know that “PetAlive AnalGlandz.” is shipped world wide. So no matter were you live you can
give your dog a natural treatment.
The
anal glands or anal sacs are small, paired sacs located
on either side of the anus. The anal glands normally empty when the
dog defecates. Failure to empty results in discomfort from the full
anal gland pushing on the anus. Scooting
can cause damage to the anus and indicates that your pet is having
trouble with his anal glands and needs some type of intervention.
Anal
gland fluid is normally yellow to tan in color and watery in
consistency. Impacted anal gland material is usually brown or gray
and thick. The presence of blood or pus indicates infection. Anal
gland infection results in pain, swelling, and sometimes abscessation
and fever. Treatment is by expression of the gland, lancing of an
abscess, and oral antibiotics and antibiotic infusion into the gland
in the case of infection.
But
its much better to prevent
complications as much as possible, that is why we use PetAlive
AnalGlanz on our dog.
